The All Saints Day Blessing of Cemeteries

Cemetery Blessings

The blessing of cemeteries in St. Jane Parish will take place following the 8AM Mass, and the Holy Hour.

  • 10:00 am – Abita Cemetery
  • 10:45 am – Flot Cemetery
  • 11:30 am – Talisheek Cemetery

The Vatican has extended the Indulgence gained by visiting, and praying in, a Cemetery, to the entire month of November.

“Indulgences are granted when a Catholic visits a cemetery to pray for the dead, goes to confession, attends Mass and receives the Eucharist and prays for the intentions of the pope.”

Public Square Rosary

rosary rally

Join us at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, October 16, for the Annual Public Square Rosary.

“Public prayer is far more powerful than private prayer to appease the anger of God and call down His mercy, and Holy Mother Church, guided by the Holy Ghost, has always advocated public prayer in times of public tragedy and suffering.”

St. Louis de Montfort

We hope to see you then!

Respect Life Month

Respect Life Month

The month of October is dedicated to the defense of life from natural conception to death, and the first Sunday is dedicated as Respect Life Sunday.

The US Conference of Catholic Bishops promotes the activities of Respect Life Month on their Respect Life Facebook Page.

Archbishop Aymond has published the following letter to all of us in anticipation of Respect Life Sunday.

We pray for a greater appreciation of life in our world today, beset as it is with ideologies promoting the euthanizing of life at any of its stages, via any means necessary.

Prayers for Moms can be found here. We will have a Rosary for Life on October 16, in front of St. Joseph Hall, at 12:00 Noon.

An Evening of Eucharistic Adoration

True Presence Nights

This fall, Archbishop Aymond will preside over five regional Eucharistic events held in parishes across the archdiocese. These events will focus on reestablishing the most central and foundational aspect of our life of faith: communion with Jesus, truly present to us in the Eucharist. Join us for a True Presence Night.

On the Northshore, next Tuesday October 5, Adoration will be held at 7:00 PM , at Most Holy Trinity Church (Located of course at 501 Holy Trinity Dr, Covington, LA 70433.)

An evening of prayer with Jesus Christ truly present, led by our Archbishop, is a compelling witness to the Faith.
