Bible Study

Let the word of Christ, rich as it is, dwell in your heart….
Colossians 3:16

We offer various Bible Studies throughout the year, which are based on Sacred Scripture and Catholic teaching. This Summer we are offering the following study:

How to Pray Like Mary

from Ascension Press

Listen—and Respond—Like Mary at the Annunciation!

Mary has been called the “mother of listening.” She didn’t just hear the Word; she pondered it in light of her own relationships and circumstances and then let it transform her. After years of Bible study, best-selling author Sonja Corbitt recognized that the “mother of listening” was providing a model of prayer that has the power to revolutionize your life of prayer. Starting with Mary’s response to the Annunciation, Sonja will show you how to pray with Scripture under the guidance of the Blessed Mother. You will learn a powerful practice for daily prayer as Mary models it. Sonja draws from vivid biblical texts to show you the key to loving Scripture and deepening your relationship with God.

St. Jane will begin How to Pray Like Mary on Tuesday, July 13 at 9:30 am. Participants will meet every week to view an engaging video presentation, followed by a time of lively group discussion and fellowship. Registration ends Monday, June 28. We hope you can join us!

“Our Bible study has given me an opportunity to expand my faith through study and reflection on the scriptures, while creating community through prayer and praise.  It has unlocked many of the mysteries of scripture for me and allowed for a greater understanding of the Bible.”

~ Aundrea Reidenauer

“We have been going to Bible study for about a year and a half, and have enjoyed the experience thoroughly.  We have come to a greater appreciation of the Bible since we now understand it much better, though there is still much more to learn.”

~ Wade & Caroline Olsen
