St. Jane youth faith formation follows the Family Catechesis model. This program is conducted under the supervision of the Office of Religious Education to fulfill the requirements for ongoing faith formation. Sacramental preparation classes for First Communion and Confirmation are conducted separately, in addition to Family Catechesis.
Family Catechesis is open to grades K-12 and consists of one parent meeting a month, two lessons at home a month, and one family fellowship gathering a month. Parents receive a parent guide and each student receives a student activity book. The goal of Family Catechesis is to strengthen the family and empower parents in their role as the primary catechists of their children while providing formation and support from catechists and small group leaders.
Family Catechesis Class Times
Adult meetings: parents attend one meeting per month for lesson prep (select regular meeting day at registration: First Sundays at 4 pm or 6 pm, First Mondays at 6:30 pm, or First Wednesdays at 6:30 pm)
Family Fellowship: one parish event each month (suspended during Phase II & III)
Home lessons: two per month, completed at the family’s convenience
