K of C Gumbeaux Cook Off!

K of C Gumbeaux Cook Off!

This Saturday, November 12, is the “annual” Knights of Columbus Gumbo Cook off.  (Although it’s annual, they don’t have it every year, which is a long story having to with shcedules, etc.)

But, it’s being hosted at St. Jane Hall.   Contestants from Knight’s of Columbus around the area will participate starting at 8AM.   Judging and Serving will commence at 11AM.

So if you’re interested in tasting some of the finest Gumbo creations around, then come by Saturday at 11AM or so.  We hope to see you there!

The Grand Winner will go on to the State Level Competition, which will be held later this year.

40 Days for Life – UPDATE

40 Days for Life – UPDATE

40 Days for Life Vigil at Planned Parenthood – Saturday, November 5th from 7 AM – Noon is St. Jane Parish’s scheduled morning to prayerfully witness in front of the Planned Parenthood abortion facility at 4636 S. Claiborne Ave, New Orleans.

UPDATE: From the Organizers:

Dear 40 Days for Life Participants,

As we prepare for the start of 40 Days for Life New Orleans, we need to remind you about the precautions and guidelines of 40 Days for Life, especially as the campaign vigil will be in front of the new Planned Parenthood facility.

Find attached a letter from us regarding the vigil in front of Planned Parenthood. Please take a moment to read and send out to participants of your campaign. You can also find attached the “Do’s and Don’ts List” that we have sent out in the past.

The Archdiocese Respect Life Office and New Orleans Right to Life have collaborated on this letter. We want to ensure that safety and peace will be at the core of 40 Days for Life this year.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Shanon Snyder

The Walk for the Poor

The Walk for the Poor

The Saint Vincent de Paul Society’s “Walk for the Poor” was a great success and a lot of fun, as usual.    We were able to raise much needed funds, and to have a great time of fellowship and prayer.
