St. Joseph Altar

Join us this Saturday, March 19 in St. Jane Hall as we honor St. Joseph on his feast day! Altar open from 10 am to 2 pm. Food will be served from 10 am while it lasts.

Ash Wednesday Schedule

Join us as we begin our Lenten time of prayer, fasting, and abstinence on Ash Wednesday, March 2. St. Jane in Abita will offer Mass with distribution of ashes at 8 am and 7 pm. St. Michael Mission in Bush will offer a communion service with distribution of ashes at 6:30 pm.

We Now Return to our Normal Mass Schedule…

Fr. Ken has recovered from covid, as has much of the Parish, even as many more are coming down with covid.

Yet, our schedule returns to normal this weekend. Thank you for the prayers and for your understanding last Sunday.

With so many Priests out last week, other Parishes had to call in Deacons to help out; thank you to Deacon Mike and to Deacon Mark for helping out, as well as a hearty Muchas Gracias to Fr. Alex for jumping in to help!

Mother/Daughter Event ages 10-14

Mothers and their daughters aged 10-14 are invited to a special event by Dumb Ox Ministries on Saturday, January 29 from 10 am to noon in St. Jane Hall. Join us as we dive into the meaning and gift of womanhood and the purpose of chastity and virtue. Our host is Katie Ibarra, and our main speaker is Brandi Bellard, RN. The event is free and open to the public.

Mass Schedule Changes for 1/8-1/9

Fr. Ken is in isolation after testing positive for Covid–he is doing well and appreciates your prayers. Due to the shortage of priests available to fill in, Archbishop Aymond has dispensed the faithful of St. Jane Parish from the obligation to attend Mass this weekend.

A Communion Service will be offered in place of most our regular Masses at the regular time and place. There will be Masses offered on Sunday at 8 & 10 am at St. Jane. The Traditional Latin Mass on Sunday is cancelled.

All other parish events will continue as scheduled.

Happy New Year! Coffee and King Cake 1/2/22 ~ Regular Sunday Mass Schedule for the Feast of the Epiphany ~ Office Opens Monday Morning

Join us in our coffee and king cake Epiphany social on Sunday after the 8 am and 10 am Masses this weekend. And stop by and pick up some blessed chalk for your doorway. According to the ever ancient, ever new, tradition – the blessed chalk is used to mark your doorway with the year and the initials C, M, B – which stand both for Caspar, Melchior, and Balthazar – and Christus Mansionem Benedicat ~ meaning “Christ, bless this Home”. We thank Mrs. Christina Uhlich for undertaking this initiative.

New Year’s Day is, of course, this Saturday, and it is the celebration of Mary, Mother of God. This year the obligation to attend Mass is dismissed (abrogated), as the Feast falls on a Saturday.

The Mass on Sunday will be the Mass of the Epiphany.

Our offices will be closed on New Year’s Eve and reopen on Monday, January 3, at 8:30 am.

Have a safe and Happy New Year!
